Detroit News is our Republican paper, Free Press is Democratic, both owned by a single owner. (Neither is worth spit.) I'm sure there should be news about the west side of Michigan, but it would not be in either of our Detroit papers.

Dozens gather at Oak Park High during protest movement

Oak Park— Nearly 50 Metro Detroiters gathered outside of Oak Park High School on Saturday to demand that Wall Street create jobs instead of making cuts.

"We're not going to stand by and let corporate take over," said Marcina Cole, host of the Oak Park demonstration. "We can't get jobs unless people come together at Capitol Hill."

The demonstration, held in conjunction with the AFL-CIO Local 23, was one of two for the American Dream movement. A noon demonstration was held at Bank of America on Highland in Waterford.
