Republicans will do anything to defeat Barack Obama...
Or nothing.

They will do everything within their power to keep unemployment high. They will refuse to pass any meaningful job legislation. They will squeeze the working and middle class until they scream "uncle!".

They will use their proteges to keep the price of gasoline high. The traders on Wall Street will keep the price of oil .75 cents to a 1.00 higher than it should be by bidding up the futures.

They will use their media arms to demonize Barack Obama. They will accuse him of unwilling to work with the Republicans. They will accuse him of wanting to re-distribute wealth. They will say he is a socialist. They will do whatever they have to do to make Barack Obama a one-term President, no matter how much the American people have to suffer.

Once they are again in power, then the people can bow down to their masters. Wall Street and the big corporations can go back to their old ways. They will loosen the vise on the working people just enough for them to breathe and all will be right with the world...

1. He's done plenty to help them.........and nothing to stop them
Neither the President nor the Democratic leadership (really?) know how to use the media like the Republicans, and that in and of itself is the key to stopping the madness.

When was the last time Harry Reid appeared on any of the Sunday talk shows? On TV for a soundbite? Anywhere?

The Democrats have no one to blame but themselves.

6. You do realize ...
you don't just show up at the studio on a Sunday saying you are going to be on the show, right?

And, you do know that Reid isn't putting the "sound bites" on the news, right?

BO has worked every possible outlet to be in front of a camera as the president.

It is the CORPORATE media, they pick who goes on the Sunday shows, they pick the "soundbites" and they get to totally ignor 99% of the clips with BO, negatively spin things against him. They got to make a marginal bunch of wackadoons into a MAJOR OUTCRY in the tea party, and completely ignor larger labor based events and the OWS movement for the most part.

Look, the Ds are pathetic in a lot of ways but you just are not dealing in reality if you think the media can be "used."

The media 100 percent picks and chooses what it wants to cover - and it picks and chooses to portray the news in a manner that suites the interest of the people who have a LOT of money.

11. And all of this has been going on...
Before he took office and was hyped up 24/7,as he began to try to implement some things but everything has been related to the color of his skin.

They look at everything and tries to portray everything he does around a perception of what they perceive a black person would do,and how he or she would make their decision.

No matter what the story they somehow need to relate it to the President in some way.

18. Exactly! It is bullshit that he ever was treated with "kid gloves!" Just because Corporate Media
and SNL continues to repeat this false meme doesn't make it true. They've been after him since Day #1

14. The biggest blame lies on so called wealthy "liberals/progressives"
These so called wealthy liberals/progressives have for the longest time refused or ignored the fact that most media have been treating liberals/progressives and their causes with total disdain. Not allowing liberal issues to be fairly aired; minimizing the number of effective liberals/progressives who can present liberal issues instead occasionally putting on the lamest liberal presenters who are bought and paid for anyway by the corporations.

If democratic leadership and the democratic party truly want to fight for liberal causes they need to find and urge wealthy liberals to get into the media industry to buy and own television, and radio stations and broadcasting companies. With that they need to challenge the Foxfication / propagandizing of the news.

4. How is that so?
Right before Reagan was elected, we held almost a 120 seat majority in the House and 17 seat majority in the Senate.

Republicans weren't able to stop much of anything.

5. It is ugly, however we are 13 months out and there is a neon message from the GOP's actions.
I have a hard time believing the GOP has great confidence in winning in 2012. I find their candidate field to speak loud and clear.

8. i agree with you.
they are pathetic. also, their policy in congress will come back to bite them hard in the ass imo. the people need for them to be addressing this country's needs and they sit on their hands or work over the abortion issue over and over. well, that will get them .002% of the vote.

10. he deserves everything he's getting
from day one he has tried to appease the right wing nut jobs, and it has bit him in the ass everytime. he should have been trying to appease the ones that got him elected, the liberals.

We had 13 months of 60 Senate votes and we got a ton of things done.

19. Liberals 'helped' get him elected
they did not do it on their own. I am a moderate and I gave money and knocked for him. I will do it again in 2012.
Moderates make up the majority of both parties. Moderates and Independents determine the outcome of elections.
Piss off the few for not catering to their every desire OR attempt to satisfy the many by doing what you can to best represent ALL?

Not hard to see what makes the most sense.

I am reminded of the story of Dr. Faustus.
