Cop in the Domestic Violence unit gets arrested...for Domestic Violence

A Seattle police sergeant in the domestic violence unit was arrested at Octoberfest in Leavenworth after police say he dragged his girlfriend in front of Chelan County sheriff's deputies.

The incident happened Saturday near the Octoberfest east gate – the gate farthest from downtown Leavenworth – when Sgt. Ronald Lee Murray, 55, and his 44-year-old girlfriend were waiting for a shuttle bus, Det. Sgt. Jerry Moore said.

"A few of our officers saw Mr. Murray dragging the female victim by the upper part of her jacket and hair through the gravel parking lot," he told seattlepi.com. "Numerous witnesses as well as officers saw the assault take place."

The alleged assault came after the woman, also from Puyallup, was upset that Murray gave away $20 in beer tickets, according to police. She was described as being "clearly intoxicated," but there were not incident report notes on Murray's possible intoxication, Moore said.

1. Unfortunately this isn't to uncommon

People whoa are attracted to police work are often raised in authoritarian ways which often involve enforcing their wills through punishment or violence and this tends to escalate. In the long run the most effective way to address this would be to improve the way children are educated, believe it or not. It takes more time to explain the details but that is what it comes down to.

Used to beat his wife a lot, even out in their yard and then he would threaten all the neighbors if they called the cops that he would be able to find out who did and make them suffer the consequences.

I think most of them, unless they've pissed a lot of their co-workers off, get a phone call ahead saying, "We just got a call that you're kicking the shit out of your wife in the front yard and keeping her from leaving by gunpoint. Is this true?", "Hell no! Who called you?", "Your next door neighbor but since you said everything is ok, then why don't you go stay at a hotel and we'll drive nice and slow to your house and talk to your wife and neighbors", "Thanks bro! I owe you one", "No problem dude now hurry and get the fuck out of there before we get there"

4. Clearly, all those so-called 'witnesses' are liars.

A police officer would NEVER break the law.

There must have been a misunderstanding, the law officer was merely assisting that woman to their vehicle.
