Anyone watching the Golden Globes tonight did anyone else have the same
revelation that I did? (I hope this is not a duplicate of a previous post.)
When they flashed the scene of Robert De Niro in Taxi Driver the Tucson murderer's mug shot flashed in my mind.
That was 34 years ago. Even though the outcome of the movie was different De Niro characterization captured the unstable mindset of someone with assassination on their mind perfectly.

4. "They say".

They never talk about how his great-grandpa was, with Rockefeller, one of the founders of the University of Chicago, and rarely about the family's ties to the Bushes, or dad's involvement with (cough, spooks, cough) world vision.

2. I'm glad he won the lifetime achievement award
but his acceptance speech was peculair, to say the least.

8. I could see where he was coming from.
That montage was not very good. He's such a powerful actor, and has played such powerful roles, yet that was such a weak representation. Ugh.

7. I noticed that very few of them look natural any more
And zero of the older women do. It's stunningly pathetic.

6. They didn't do him justice imho
And it seemed like he noticed it.

But yes, Travis Bickle was very much like Jared Loughner.

10. Hero or Villain?
Taxi Driver is among the best movies ever made. Was Travis a hero or villain?
