Poll question: Does Alec Baldwin's status as nationwide pitchman for Capital One undermine his OWS support? |
|
Pretty simple. Yes or no.

1. Perhaps he could argue that he's not *really* a pitchman. |
|
He just plays one in the commercials. It's an acting role.

2. Really, now. I'm guessing Alec Baldwin likes to be paid as Alec Baldwin. |

3. What about the guy who sweeps the floors at Capital One's offices? Does that undermine his OWS |
|
support? Baldwin doesn't own Capital One, he's merely an employee (and not even a permanent employee at that.)

4. Does that floorsweeper urge me to borrow from Capital One? |
|
Does that floorsweeper get paid in a year what they pay Baldwin per commercial?
The answer to each is almost certainly NO.
Another fail.

14. He may be well-paid, but he's still an EMPLOYEE. |
|
NOt one of THEM. One of us.
I once played a gig for Mitch McConnell, when he was running for re-election as Jefferson County (KY) Judge-Executive. We charged him more than our regular fees. His money spent well. I held my nose and played.

15. Did you campaign for McConnell, like Baldwin campaigns for Cap One? |
|
If not, then your analogy fails.

|
Good paying gig. Sang and played with the Gatlin Brothers.
But did I campaign for either of them? Nope.
