It seems to me the whole nation is very anxious and nervous about the present political conditions. The Republican politicians are reckless and are not afraid of the voters. They seem to believe that no matter what they do or say, they will still have their supporters in their corner? Sometimes they seem insane. They are totally out of touch with reality.
Many Americans are fearful that the Republicans will re-gain the White House and the Senate and their heartless ideas will create a lot of suffering for a lot of people. They are not conservatives - they are reactionary regressives. People have good reason to be anxious, in my opinion.
Also, there is anxiety about where the OWS movement is going to go next? Will they be able to survive a crackdown from the authorities or will they simply wait for the bad weather to drive them off the streets? Perhaps this is what we have to experience if we are going to have any change in this nation? Perhaps we need to steel ourselves for the long battle? It could get much worse.

the early years of the collapse of the USA and also western 'civilization'.
I always thought that Obama's failure to enact real, substantive change would lead to a resurgance of the noveau 'fascism' of Amerika's reich-wing.
There's a house down the street from me all decked out for Halloween, but the scariest thing on the lawn is the Romney sign.
