Adam Levine Calls Fox News Evil, Bans Them From Playing His Music

First Posted: 10/19/11 04:30 PM ET Updated: 10/19/11 04:43 PM ET

It's fair to say that Adam Levine probably won't be interviewed on Fox News any time soon.

The Maroon 5 singer, never afraid to speak his mind, sent out a tweet on Wednesday aimed at the news network.

"Dear Fox News, don't play our music on your evil fucking channel ever again. Thank you," the singer wrote, though he gave no context for the tweet; previously, he pointed out that Kelsey Grammer and Chelsea Handlers' names sounded alike and notified fans that he was listening to early 90s hip hop on his way to Valencia.

Levine is an advocate for gay rights, and previously ripped Fox's "American Idol" for suppressing the sexuality of its gay contestants. He is a judge on NBC's "The Voice," a rival of "American Idol."

9. The M5 song "Makes Me Wonder" was a jab at Bush, wasn't it?
The lyrics of "Makes Me Wonder" have two different meanings. One meaning is about Adam Levine's frustration at the state of politics and the US role in the war in Iraq. According to him, the song shows their confusion about the politics in the US. The song was also called a hard hitting pop rock anthem.

"I really wanted to write a political song, a song that reflected the way I felt about everything. It's one of the most difficult things in the world to do without coming off as a total arse and preachy - all the things that I hate about a lot of songwriting. So I didn't want to overtly say it. I just wanted to allude to it."

10. We had them at our venue a couple of years ago...
and for soundcheck (that became a meet & greet half way through) they did nothing but covers.

Let see...they did Nirvana...Metallica...Pantera...AC/DC...Iron Maiden...Soundgarden. It was awesome. I really could've given two farts about them before. But after that soundcheck, they definitely gained my respect. All of them are spectacular musicians (I also went to music school...I'm no idiot when it comes to musicianship).

I talked to their drummer after the show, and he said something to the affect that they were more about the type of music they played during soundcheck but, "I have a wife and kids and a mortgage and the stuff we play for shows pays the bills.".
