West Palm Beach Hopes Booking Photos Curb Crime

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. -- One South Florida city is hoping public shaming will help curb prostitution.

The West Palm Beach City Commission agreed Monday to post online the booking photos of those arrested to soliciting prostitutes.

The city got national attention with a similar program in the 1990s, but it was disbanded after a man who was later acquitted sued the city. This time around, West Palm Beach will only post the photos of those arrested more than once.

The Palm Beach Post reports prostitution has been on the rise in the city's north end during the economic downturn.

I read an article that said what do you do if some developmentally delayed women get lured into prostitution?

8. You arrest the person who is selling them
because the ability to consent is absent. The same thing that happens if someone has unpaid sex with them. Inventing random possibilities like this and crying about "what if!!" is part of what gets prostitutes killed. It's emotional bullshit propaganda designed to keep prostitution illegal and prostitutes as less than human. And it works. Ignore it.

11. Protecting these women as a whole is more important than something that may happen.

10. Shame, shame, shame.

Some people have no sense of shame and they prove it every day.

12. Well, good.
I'm sure prostitution wil now be forever ended and we can all sleep better knowing that people aren't out having sex without our permission. If regulated like it is in Nevada -- so that women aren't harmed and everybody stays safe -- I honestly don't see the harm in it.
