Oil company commercial on MSNBC, with three college students seemingly dismissing teacher...
...for his 'old fashion' views on energy production. Oil 'creates jobs,' is 'clean,' is the 'future.'

Brainwashingy propaganda from ConacoPhillips.

2. Funny my ass
It's a brilliant piece of PR/propaganda. Just keep pushing that same cute, almost believable story line and a certain percentage of people will believe it.

I spent some time earlier this evening watching some of the ads about Ohio's SB2 and most of them it was hard to tell until you got to the end whether they were for or against SB2. Hell, with some you didn't know if for or against meant to keep it or repeal.

Remember we're up against an industry that has almost 100 years of development and billions of $ in research just to get you to see things the way they want.

4. OMG that "Actually... it's CLEANER" girl pisses me off each and every time
I don't blame the actress at all, I blame the director, but she looks and sounds so snotty. Which is fine... any little reduction in the effectiveness of the message is OK with me. I mean, if *all* I remember of that commercial is the condescending tone of it, that is a fail, at least as far as this consumer is concerned.

And as if we're supposed to believe this genial but serious conversation continues as they leave the classroom... oh please.

7. Yup, it was brilliant
And it fits the anti intellectual zeitgeist like a glove.
