Here we go again... Senator Dean Heller (R-NV): One half of Americans don't pay taxes
Senator Dean Heller (R-NV) said tonight (twice) in a telephone town hall meeting that one half of Americans don't pay taxes. He said the one half of Americans who pay taxes are getting tired of carrying the one half that doesn't and that's what's going on right now. He rambled on and on (twice) about China requiring all citizens to pay taxes and if a large communist country like China can make everyone pay taxes, then the US can, too.

Drrrr.....Grrrr.... rgh!

1. He's right
except the ones who don't pay taxes are the ones making millions a year.

But I do agree with his statement, I'm tired of carrying them too!

3. Needless to say, Heller emphasized that he includes GE, BoA, etc. in that category
Oh, wait...he didn't. What a shock.

5. Did anyone ask him
why we would want to be like a large Communist country?

8. The frustrating thing about those stupid telephone town hall meetings is that you punch '0' to get
in line to ask a question - If your name doesn't come up in the queue by the time the meeting is over, you get to leave a voice mail. I'm yelling into the phone the entire time and my family's like, "Who are you talking to?!"

6. So being he supports Cain's policies I wonder how the people of Nevada feel about FORECLOSURES?
Dean is trying to play to the populist line that Cain had in the debate, where his handlers really fucked up is when the people of Nevada realize that he is essentially supporting a VAT its going to go over like a fart in a space suit.

I wonder what the wealth stats are in Nevada, considering their foreclosure rate I am sure its pretty low.

9. Well... at least two of the participants asked him about what he thought about a VAT or flat tax
and one guy said he thinks all people should pay a flat 10% or 15% across the board. There were some really nutty questions and comments. It's pretty scary.

13. Half don't pay taxes because they don't make enough to be taxable.

Isn't that what you call poverty? Easy solution, pay them more.

14. Hey, asshole....
Those of us who don't make enough to pay federal income taxes are tired of being in such a position where we earn so little. What do you plan to do about it, you ignorant, sanctimonious sack of shit? I'll say to you what I say to everyone else who parrots that bullshit: Go fuck yourself.

15. He is right, 53%, 54%, 55% in fact 99% pay taxes. That's why we want the 1% to pay their fare share.

19. I tried to call him on his crap and got sent to the queue and then the meeting ended before I had a
chance to have my say. I doubt most will challenge him in these meetings - I think the meetings are directed at a Republican constituency - he's tapping into his base. As I explained on another post, he thinks he's talking at a Republican in my house, but he's not.

questions. Ensign used to do the same thing. I think the only reason I get invited is because I have a registered Republican at my address. :)

* On edit, I should say he calls Republican constituents - or at least he thinks he's calling Republicans, I think.
