U.S. Unemployment Down Sharply in Early October
Not seasonally adjusted, unemployment falls from 8.7% at the end of Sept. to 8.3% in mid-Oct.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, is 8.3% in mid-October -- down sharply from 8.7% at the end of September and 9.2% at the end of August. A year ago, Gallup's U.S. unemployment rate stood at 10.0%. While seasonal hiring patterns may explain some of this improvement, the drop suggests the government could report an October unemployment rate of less than 9.0%.

3. lol. I was just thinking, if it does dip below 9, which Obama even said

wouldn't happen before the election....they will start
talking "underemployed" and "real unemployment numbers"
which Michelle Bachman will cure with her double fence
along the border of Mexico. She obviously didn't read
the NY Times article that said illegal immigration from
there is down to a trickle.

4. Ford, UAW agreement is officially ratified which means Ford is going to hire 12,000 new employees

The two plants around here are already hiring according to some guys I know who work there.

Each one of those jobs creates several more jobs.

5. Bridgestone is expanding their plant in my county

They're building a whole new plant to make truck tires, and they're already starting to hire for it. I guess they're going to provide the tires for the trucks Ford is going to be making. Of course, our useless, publicity-hungry governor is claiming credit for it, even though she had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to expand.

7. thats wonderful news. I wish every day Obama would start praising companies

who hire. Make it more of a competition. What better positive PR than to have the President of the US stand up and say how great you are, how patriotic they are.
