I just got a survey robocall asking about the debt crisis... |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-20-11 10:44 AM by johnd83
The answer was given by pressing the touch tone phone buttons in a scale from one being worst to five being best. The first question was "How would you rate the democratic party's handling of the debt crisis?" Eh, maybe a "4". "How would you rate the republican party's handling of the debt crisis?" "1". *Short pause* "How would you rate the republican party's handling of the debt crisis?" 1. Uh, "1". "How would you rate the republican party's handling of the debt crisis?" "1" damnit. "How would you rate the republican party's handling of the debt crisis?" *hangup*
You have to wonder how scientific the surveys these republicans quote are.
Also, there was something about a free two-day cruise to anyone who made it to the end of the survey...

2. That is the only reasonable explanation |
|
They must be pretty desperate to offer a free cruise just to bribe someone taking a telephone survey.

4. It's too bad it's so damned hard to find out who did this |
|
When the 'results' of the survey appear would be the best time to add this detail about the survey's operation.

5. Hoping you'll become frustrated and start jabbing all the |

numbers and it will come to a happy end when your finger drills #5.

6. Weekly Standare Cruise???? Just a guess. |
|
The old line is true. You get answers in Polls and Surveys according to how the question is asked.
Leadinq questions tell you the answer they want.
There is an official Poll which shows People trust Democrats more than Republicans on Economy and Deficit. I do not believe the questions in your survey is related.

8. Yep, and especially those that ask for money at the end of the survey, like the |
|
political ones I get via snail mail.

9. who was doing that survey? |
|
did they identify themselves? Reputable surveys are done by marketing research companies for a client, with a live person asking the questions. ( I used to work for market research, some time ago)
Recordings I never respond to.

11. I wasn't paying that close attention at the start |
|
It was a name I didn't recognize. I did a reverse lookup and the call came from an unlisted number in Dallas. I live in the northeast so I have no idea why they were calling me.

10. Sounds like a novel approach to the push poll... |
|
choices that reflect badly on the repukes don't register. So you are forced to keep picking a higher number till one works.
notice that the 4 worked.
