I just joined a local credit union

When the bank lady asked me what made me want to join a credit union just now, I told her "It's as close to Nov. 5 as I could get. I would do it on that day, but we're having my son's birthday party then." I'm not sure she got it. :)

6. My wife has an account at a small local CU

They've already offered her a great deal on a car loan re-fi or new car loan. Our joint accounts are at TD Bank -- a Canadian bank -- and I actually like them. They aren't on the lists of terrible, horrible banks, so I haven't felt compelled to move my accounts. But seeing how her new CU is treating her, I'm feeling that maybe it's time.
