see it.

26. In order to do that, you'd first have to believe killing is a victory for freedom
or for anything, for that matter. See?

Let someone else teach you remedial ethics.

30. I'd say it's more about justice than freedom.
I mean, you'd probably be happy if he had escaped to some other third-world dictatorship, but how would that have been a victory for freedom?

33. How about something just a bit civilized?
Edited on Thu Oct-20-11 01:42 PM by Bragi
I hate to be one of those pesky rule of law types, but I'd celebrate something like a trial and a conviction and a sentence, you know, the sort thing that might send out signals showing the world what the new and just Libya is all about?

Instead of say, the kind of signal sent out when you have a murderous thug brutally slain by a crazed, bloodthirsty mob.

I have no problem not cheering for that, and I question the humanity and/or intelligence of anyone who knowingly cheers for and endorses any unnecessary, brutal murder.

37. That's not fair.
Calling people out on their hypocrisy is mean. Just because they think a sign saying "Jump Fuckers" is teh awesome, doesn't mean that they would want Pres. Obama to push Qadaffi out of a window. Bankers are evil and I heard Qadaffi saved a kitten by murdering an entire family that was in its path.

I made a comment (in a subsequently locked thread) that the "Jump Fuckers" sign was inappropriate. I was the only one that thought so. Quite a few people thought it was hilarious.

19. Not only show it, but apparently you have to celebrate it, too
It seems a pretty complicated phenomenon, but I am assured over and over again by putative liberals that it's the correct course of action. I'm still having some trouble trimming my stubborn ideals to fit this year's fashion.
