The Republics - All Of Them - Need To Now STFU About Obama |
|
Edited on Thu Oct-20-11 01:48 PM by stopbush
The Republics - I call them that to return the favor of them using the term "The Democrat Party" - need to STFU about Obama. Not just on foreign policy, on everything.
I think the country is sick of the fucking Republics. Sick of their politics and policies. It's time for Ds, 99% ers and the rest of the sane people to absolutely SHUT DOWN THESE ASSHOLES AND THEIR FUCKING TALKING POINTS!
They need to be laughed at and marginalized. They need to be steam-rolled and rendered entirely impotent.
AND, it's time for D leaders to take the Ben Nelsons and John Testers of the world to the D woodshed, order them to get in line or they'll be stripped of all of their important committee assignments. There should be no exceptions here. Party discipline is called for, and if that means enforcing that discipline with harsh measures, then so be it. Our country is at stake, and the person political future of such DINOs as Nelson are inconsequential.
There is a swelling anti-conservative tide in this country that is quick becoming a tsunami. Ds need to ride that wave and get down to business.

3. While I agree, it seems as if you want the Dems to adopt the exact same mentality |
|
The the repubs have adopted. I mean, isn't marching in lockstep by the repubs, regardless of whether theyare right or wrong, THE problem here?

4. They oppose us,and him, why would they shut up? |
|
The bipartisan meme that they are honest brokers is a Third Way fantasia. Dream time, not reality based.

5. No one should ever have to STFU in the USA. Not even lying assholes. |
|
Laugh and marginalize them, sure. Call them on their BS, sure. Silence their right to be wrong, NEVER.

6. Good luck with all that |
|
Seeing how half of the supposed 99% are "Republics" and probably around 30% of the rest are "inconsequential DINOs."
But please, you keep right on riding that progressive tsunami you are dreaming of.

7. I can't find much to disagree with here. |

I think there should definitely be consequences for bad behavior. I mean - would you raise your children this way? They misbehave and you still give them things? You add more privileges hoping they'll stop throwing hissy fits in public and embarrassing you? Maybe if you just keep giving them stuff and giving them stuff and giving them stuff - maybe THAT will soften their hearts and encourage them to get with your program? Yeah. Any mom whose kid is throwing a temper tantrum all over the floor in the cereal aisle because she won't buy the kid five boxes of Count Chocula knows THAT'LL work. Maybe it shuts them up for 30 seconds or so. And then they'll have learned that you act beastly to get stuff. Great idea. Sounds like that asshole who cut me off the other day and damn near took out the whole side of my car. Must been how he was brought up - to be selfish and thoughtless of anything or anyone beyond his own nose.
I think the "taste of their own medicine, see how they like it" treatment is more effective. I think CONSEQUENCES are in order here. You want that plum committee assignment? Then GET WITH THE PROGRAM. And yes, there IS a sense of turning-of-the-tide going on in this country. The OWS movement IS starting to change things. And change thinking.
But that takes time.
And the only hesitation I have is with these wild cards like ben nelson in particular - arrogant asshole. I CAN understand why this hasn't happened - you risk pissing the ben nelsons off so badly that they switch parties and the numbers are close enough at the moment that it might fuck things up. Perhaps that's why Dems pull their punches. This wouldn't be a concern if the Dems had a larger majority. We don't have much wiggle room at present. Remember what happened with Jim Jeffords, early in 2001 I think it was? It was before 911. He was treated badly enough by his fellow republi-CONS that he went independent. The GOP had a razor-thin lead in the Senate and this one guy's defection was enough to throw the numbers the other way - because the Dems were offering him committee assignments he liked and he decided to caucus with the Dems. He cost the CONS the Senate. If the numbers are close, ONE Senator can do this. That's been the problem with that asshole wanker lieberman for a long time, too. I'm sure ben nelson is being flattered up the wazoo by the bad guys, hoping to lure him all the way over to the Dark Side. That's what then-Senate Leader Tom Daschle did with Jeffords, with help from Christopher Dodd, just softening him up and easing his way out of the GOP.
