A way to expose leadership wealth |
|
I was reading the post about Paul Ryan's scheduled town meetings and I thought OWS should protest them ... which lead me to another thought about what the signs should say. Federal elected officials have to disclose their taxes, right? So someone could get a hold of a Congressperson's taxes and calculate what percentage of their income they paid in taxes. Then make a sign that says:
Paul Ryan (or whatever Congressperson) paid 17.4% (or whatever percent) of his taxable income in Federal Income tax
I paid 33% (or whatever percent)
How much did you pay?
Amount of taxes you paid/your taxable income

2. Just ask him how much of his income is not taxed. |

How much of his income would be taxed at a higher rate if it weren't from capital gains or dividends?
