The only winning move is not to play |

American politics is a fraud. Institutions promoting false dichotomies are frauds too.

10. No it is not unnecessary |
|
it IS necessary, we are the ones we've been waiting for, remember that? did you think Obama can do this by himself? No, but a show of force such as OWS is exactly what the government needs to understand that things are getting worse for the average America and people that work overtime in distorting all the efforts this president has made just to prove a point helps no one, not even themselves.
We can help change the system by electing representatives that can represent their constituents instead of special interest.

11. No, what I wrote was that if Obama and the Democrats were doing their ostensible jobs.. |
|
You know, representing the average American, then OWS would be unnecessary.
On some social issues Democrats are better than Republicans, when it comes to economics and the distribution of wealth there's really not much to choose.
Keep in mind that Obama signed a tax cut bill that actually raised taxes on those making under $20K/year.

12. Yes I know what you wrote and understood your sentiments |
|
what I did was to take you into a scenario that can give you a bit of an understanding as to the reason why things work the way they do in government sometimes and what we can do as citizens to gain our governments attention.
If we want to be fair, we can say that yes Obama took the presidency with majority in Congress and Senate but did we foresee blue dogs were going to create an obstacle on each and every bills that was sent to Congress? No we did not, but yet he was able to get some bills through even with obstructions from republicans and blue dogs. You can also argue that why was Bush II able to pass majority of his bill with no obstruction?
On the distribution of wealth I would not give republicans credit, did you see the show the other day with Melisa Harris Perry on Al Sharpton show? she gave a statistics on democrats and republicans leadership since FDR, you need to find the video to that show, but my point is this, republicans are known for less wealth sharing, the only reason why businesses vote for republicans constantly is that the wealth sharing is sustained amongs the top 1%, the top 1%, knowing that, why would anyone see themselves as a republican is baffling except ofcourse if you are the top 1%.

13. This is not your father's Democratic party.. |
|
To paraphrase an old Olds ad..
Your father's Democratic party wouldn't have countenanced a "tax cut" bill that raised taxes on the poorest working Americans.
I fall into that demographic, perhaps it's why I noticed that my taxes were raised by the tax bill that gave whopping cuts to millionaires.
I'm funny that way.
