Rubio's parents had been here FIFTEEN years before he was born |
|
Cubans know every detail of their Pre/Post Cuba lives. My family came here in 1962, and had to borrow change at the airport to make a phone call.. they had NO luggage..not even a purse was allowed.
My aunt sewed jewelry into the hem of her dress. They had their birth certificate/passports in-hand and that was it. My grandfather was limited to the pair of glasses he was wearing. My grandmother foolishly wore earrings that were taken from her in Havana before they got on the plane..
they came with NOTHING.

3. The worst was when castro's "crew" |
|
Edited on Fri Oct-21-11 04:37 PM by SoCalDem
swarmed onto their "farm" and slaughtered their horses for food. My cousin had had her "Felix" since he was a foal, and she saw them shoot him. (she was 11 then)
They took over the farm, and then their apartment in Havana and my grandfather's jewelry store.
They lived all in one room in a relative's place until they were able to finally leave..

9. You know I tend to bitch and complain about a lot of nonsense |
|
and then I read a post like yours.
The Felix story breaks my heart;in fact all of it does.
Puts things in perspective for me.

8. On another thread I wrote about my Florida sister's |

close friend. My sister, her friend's kids and my nephews know their entire story. Everyone knows the dates. Rubio is a pathological LIAR.

10. People do not "forget" something that important |
|
I'm guessing that they may have felt some shame about getting out while the "getting was still good", and they made up stuff to be like their compatriots.. That said, he should have certainly researched that stuff BEFORE he started running for office.. he's lazy & over-confident.

12. Rubio's a little fuzzy on his family history |
|
He thinks his parents fled Castro's Cuba, but records show they came to this country in 1956. Now, unless Castro has a time machine, 1956 is not after 1959, and in no way did Rubio's family flee Castro.

13. Norman Goldman just said it was two years earlier than |

Rubio claims. Either way, Rubio is fudging on the facts.
And, Goldman asks, is Rubio an anchor baby?
