Woman allegedly beaten with frozen armadillo
From the Houston Chronicle:

Only in Texas: Dallas police are on the lookout for a man who could face assault charges for throwing a frozen armadillo at a 57-year-old woman near Dallas.

The woman, My Fox Dallas-Fort Worth reports, met the man in a parking lot to purchase the armadillo carcass, which she planned to eat.

During a fight over its price, he hit her with the animal in the leg and the chest, leaving bruises on her body.

Two things: I didn't know that armadillo was once referred to as "Hoover ham". I wonder if this woman has always eaten armdillo or can't afford something that's probably fresh roadkill.

Second: There's a link just above this story to "After massive wildfires, Bastrop gets proactive with firefighter training". The juxtaposition made me initially think the firefighters were heaving 'dillos at arsonists...

4. Oh
I thought from your title you meant that you guessed, out of all things and without reading the article, that someone was beaten with a frozen Armadillo.

"Of course! She was bludgeoned with an Armadillo! I could have guessed that with my eyes closed!" :)

7. In school, I read a story about a woman who killed her husband with a frozen leg of lamb
Watched the police investigate the crime scene while it thawed, then invited them to stay for dinner and help eat it!

8. That happened in a Carl Hiiasen novel -
only it was a frozen lizard.

Maybe that's where he got the idea.
