Did Rupert Murdoch commit a crime in public today? |
|
Whether state or federal law is applied, I'm pretty sure Rupert Murdoch violated a fiduciary duty as the head of his corporation. He did not report material facts about the ongoing Parliament investigation, facts likely to negatively affect revenues, executive stability and the stock price.
Was that violation of fiduciary duty a crime or merely subjecting him to civil liability? I have no idea, but I would like to see the Lawyer's Guild look into it. Anyone have a direct contact with the NLG?

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2011/oct/21/news-corp-rupert-murdoch-shareholders?newsfeed=trueHe might have an out by claiming sufficient info publicly available to mitigate his disclosure requirement. The context is that he wasn't forthcoming in the shareholders' meeting today.
