Although librarians have been the vigilant guardians of freedom for some time now, and while they don't get riled up over trivial things, when they do get riled up, watch out!
Michael Moore loves to talk about how it was librarians who made sure his book "Stupid White Men" got published back in 2001.

We are always the ones willing to try new things. Most librarians are on the cutting edge of technology, in every community that has a library. When I ran the library here, I brought the Internet to our community.
Censorship? Don't even consider it. If anything makes us angry, it is some fool, or group of fools trying to ban a book or an idea.
