However, Occupy Wall Street is worthy of adulation!

War is a Racket.

1. Well that is sad.
I am cheering for the Libyan people that will no longer have to live their lives under an evil dictator.
And I am cheering for Our Troops and the families of the troops that will now be able to spend the holidays with their families.

And I'm gonna UNrec your OP.

Have a great weekend.

12. Likely so. Most of us here, however, are Americans.

10. I'll rec to counter...Just remmebr, Gadafi's son was studyin in the US and we didn't
give a shot about him being a dictator until we realized he was going to be more difficult about releasing oil.
Oh, and did your idol actually say we never should have been in Iraq in the first place?

6. I disagree strongly.
I think both of the things you mentioned are great news for everyone. And so is OWS.

7. You can't cheer the end of Libya's civil war and the end of the Iraq occupation?
That's a shame. :(

9. Wow.
So troops coming home (one of which will be my sweetie's son) is nothing to cheer?!

The Libyan people are free of their dictator. Nothing to cheer there either?

Occupy is fine, but there are other things going on in the world.

13. I couldn't
Like you find much to rejoice in in either development.Would rather have seen Qaddafi put on trial and his crimes against his people and the world cataloged and exposed. But I suspect he had opportunities to surrender and perhaps his macho,or the fear of that very thing kept him thinking there was a back door somewhere.
War is racket but every time I get to thinking of General Butler I remember the Marines have been a volunteer outfit almost since their inception and he stuck around long enough to achieve a General's rank.
About the best I can think of him is his action in thwarting the coup plotted against FDR by the London-directed Morgan and Mellon interests and our very own proto-fascists of the American Liberty League.
