Letter: Republicans just can't seem to find extremist candidate who fits.

There's no doubt that Republicans remain clueless. Observing their search for a candidate is hysterical. America continues to suffer from George W. Bush and the policies of the 2000-2006 Republican-controlled Congresses.

More recently, elected Republican tea party members, in their arrogance, went out of their way to inflict additional damage to America.

After John McCain's loss, Republicans immediately turned their backs on America and President Barack Obama, refusing to help, while unrealistically expecting Obama to solve America's monumental problems they left us: the economy, two wars, and Medicare Part D, then decided to be obstructionist as well.

2. They know their loony candidates will lose, so they do not
want to waste one of their "good" candidates on this race. Saving Christie, Jeb and the best for 2016. The result will be 18 months exposure of the looniest "ideas" these goobers can throw up. Of course the liberal press will show them making complete asses of themselves. It is good for Democrats in general.

3. Pretty nice but the Republicans turned their back on America long years before Obama.
Obama just made them go nuts. I think this is in part because he takes their supposed positions broadly which leaves them with little space to exist in without going to his left. They aren't "bipartisan", they are oppositional under the best circumstances.

They will only begrudgingly accept unconditional surrender and that only on a good day for something they really, really want. Usually, there must be some goal post moving and some poison pill to swallow to even do what they claim to want.

4. Hopefully, in his second term, Obama will start kicking ass.
