1. If that second pic truly represented the rest of the world |
|
Then that message would have a point. It doesn't, and it doesn't.

2. This is one of those "sit down and shut up" posts. |
|
People are very poor in Africa, so CEO's in America should be making 345 times what the rest of us make. This is called a non sequitur.

4. Sorry but that is far from accurate |

unless you mean a very small section of the Horn of Africa, which might be leading edge to something else brought by peak oll and weather change, a population collapse. Trust me, you really do not want to see that...

6. Which GOP fatcat pal sent you that thing? |
|
He's not too good on his geography or world demographics, now, is he?
How about all those up-and-comers in China? Why are we ignoring all of those well-fed souls in Europe? And let's not forget the Middle East or Southwest Asia...the "matchstick limbs" look is not the norm there, either. Greenland, Iceland, Australia, Indonesia...what, none of those people count in the big scheme?
You can feel sorry for hungry people while still being able to "notice" that people in the USA are living in a disparate system as well. One image doesn't wipe out that reality, and it doesn't make it "OK" for the rich bastards to sit on their ill-gotten lucre.
You might be wanting to do one of those "Friends" clear-outs I hear about on that Facebook thing.

9. We're not even #1 in anything to the rest of the world. |
|
Other countries have surpassed us in every single social and economic aspect. We're not #1 in manufacturing, education, healthcare, wages, standard of living, quality of life, green jobs, etc etc etc.

10. Suffering is not a frikkin' contest. |
|
Our not speaking out here will not stop others suffering or their hunger...but there is a greater chance that if we DO stand up for what is right & fair...it could help all those who need help.
If we lift ourselves and our neighbors up, it also lifts the world.
