1. Wow
Kind of early in the season to be seeing tornadoes. When did that happen?

3. Happy New Year to you too
We had rain up here in North Florida all day, which we needed. Hope all remains well for South Florida.

8. Tornado warnings and tornados are not uncommon in Florida ...
While they are not as big as the Midwestern tornadoes, they can do a LOT of damage.

Florida has never experienced an F5 tornado, but two F4s (winds 207-260 mph) have been documented in the state. The first F4 formed in 1958 and caused very little damage. The last F4 in Florida history, on the other hand, was part of one of the deadliest tornado outbreaks in state history.

On April 4, 1966 tornadoes moved in from the Gulf of Mexico and tracked from the Tampa Bay area to Brevard County, killing 11 and injuring more than 500.
