Disabled dog 'buried alive by school caretakers annoyed by its barking'
Edited on Sun Oct-23-11 03:11 PM by Zephie
Traumatized and just minutes from death, a disabled stray was rescued after allegedly being buried alive by school caretakers.

Police think the unwanted pet had annoyed the men by barking and they callously vowed to bury him alive in the school playing field as punishment.

Horrified witnesses spotted the disabled stray, now named Warrior after his ordeal, yelping for mercy as he was buried in the Cape Town township of Khayelitsh.

<snip>

Police spokesman Frederick van Wyk today confirmed two 59-year-old men had been arrested and would be charged.

Edit: The dog is alive and in the care of a vet.

19. I've always wondered if I would be capable of killing a human being.
After seeing that picture, there's a very good chance I could.

27. I could
Because some human beings are sociopaths. I hate them because of their personality types .I would like to see all sociopaths, authoritarians& psychopaths wiped out.I'd be glad to do my part.

I don't want to live in a world with people

32. Same with me. I finally clicked on after debating it because I assumed
someone had to have rescued it but I usually skip animal abuse stories because they leave me so upset. Even though the dog was rescued the picture made me cry, just horrible.

31. People who abuse animals are just the fucking worst, I'm sorry.
Edited on Mon Oct-24-11 12:22 AM by Withywindle
The reason I say this is that they're the kind of people who, as long as they're guaranteed to get away with it or not have the public eye turned on them, will gladly hurt a helpless being just for the hell of it.

Maybe they'd never hurt an actual human...but if they don't, it's out of self-preservation instinct only, not a real belief that torture is wrong. They referain out of knowing that doing to a human what they did to an animal would lead to much MUCH more police interest.

Anyone who would do this to animal would do it to a human in a HEARTBEAT if they thought it was safe *for them.* No question about it. If you have someone like this in your life, the "benefit of the doubt" might cost some sentient being his/her/its life, and that is never worth the risk.

34. WHAT the FUCK is WRONG with people?
The act was an abomination and an aberration of nature.
Please tell me this wont happen again.
Send that dog to my house.
Now.
Anyone know how to contact the people caring for this
poor fur person? I'm deadly serious. I will bring him to my house
if it is at all possible, and spend the rest of my life
making his life beautiful, safe and loved.
I can not believe any "person" would do such a thing to
another living being.
It sickens my heart to the core.

38. If you can find out
anything please let me know. I want to help. This is BULLSHIT and I'm sitting here weeping.

Oh, and before anyone can scream "you care more about animals than you do people" at me I'll go ahead and admit that a lot of the time I do. It is fucking people who abuse animals, not the other way around.

40. I just wrote to the clinic where Warrior was taken.
Another DUer helped me out with a link.

I told them I couldn't stop thinking about him
and to please write me to let me know his condition.

I also told them I was dead serious about giving him a home in
California.

I'll report back to you if I hear back from them.

42. Thank you BHN
Thank you for offering this sweet baby a home, thank you for offering to pay for his way (and I know you're going to get more help than just from me). most of all, thank you for caring so much that you had to do something. Hearing you say "I couldn't stop thinking about him" puts you in a class of people that I admire and try to emulate. I can't say thank you enough. Much love to you.

39. He looks just like my puppy
who was also a rescue. WTF is up with the sick, demented depravity of some individuals on this planet?

What makes this especially heartbreaking is that the dog was disabled -- the cruelty of these "men" just makes my blood boil. Thank heavens they were caught and the dog's life was saved.

If he's anything like my dog you will just love him, so good luck and I keep my fingers crossed for you and the doggie!
