We need a revolution to overthrow this. Let's just hope it can be a peaceful revolution. Violent ones rarely work as advertised.

30. Yes, everything else stems from that. The Wars, the privatizations
of our HC and now Education system eg. We spend so much wasted time trying to fix THOSE issues, when there is no hope of doing so, so long as they own Congress. The issues are like the fruit or branches of a poisoned tree, and we have failed to deal with the real problem, which is the 'root'.

I hope, now that the conversation has begun about the money in our Government, an issue will be made of the funding these candidates get. Lists of the candidates with their funding next to their photos, should be made available to every voter if possible. Most people do not know this. Make Corporate Funding political poison in the next election and that will make it possible for decent people to run against the Wall Street Candidates for the first time.

Then, when that mission is accomplished, we can start talking about legislation, like restoring Glass Steagal and getting REAL Campaign Finance Reform and a REAL National HC system. But until the Wall Street Candidates are removed, none of that can happen and we have to be able to overcome the money in order to get good people elected. I think for the first time, it is possible.

35. Exactly. But until we get rid of the Wall Street Congress, that
won't happen. So first, we have to make that a huge issue in the next election. Anyone accepting funds from Wall Street should be challenged by candidates who make it clear that unlike their opponents, they will not be working for Wall Street and will not be taking Wall Street money.

The climate is right now. Make it a campaign issue for all of them. They boast about how much money they have right now. But watch them try to hide it once the people find out who they are really working for.

23. Jobs - preferably through legalizing marijuana - kill two - or three or four - birds w/one stone
would create jobs - especially if well regulated to stop huge corporations from getting involved - small businesses only - from growers to sales, harvesters, trimmers - many jobs to be had. the tax money could be used to create some ACTUAL GOVERNMENT JOBS that are needed like social workers and more teachers. It's a win win win win win for everyone. Oh and it puts weed dealing gangs out of business - as well the mexican cartels. It's insane that we are not demanding it be legal, regulated, and taxed.

27. economy/jobs/financial reform - they all go together
and the Tobin tax on trades should happen asap and if both sides do not support these, they are too corrupt to remain in office.

1000 economists have recommended the tax on trades.

Get a new economic team - not one that opposes the above economists. Get Goldman-Sacs out of the administration.

the assault on women's rights is horrific, btw. getting these neolithic thinkers, whether male or female, out of office is a top priority. I don't care which side of the aisle they're on. We need people to run against any anti-choice dems in primaries. Get rid of them.

39. Supreme Court
If a Repub gets elected in 2012 and gets to make appointments to the USSC, we're screwed as a nation. It doesn't matter if we suddenly have an influx of jobs in this country and the economy turns around on a dime. We'll lose so many personal freedoms from a heavily conservative court, we'd no longer recognize this nation. The court is fairly balanced now and look how their decisions are effecting us.

Perhaps, at the core, it would be disinfecting our corrupted government and taking a sharp left turn.
