This GOP Senator in Florida had trouble renewing his drivers license - and the clerk was a neighbor who had known him for years.

TALLAHASSEE — Greg Evers had heard people complain about how hard it is to renew your driver's license in Florida, but it didn't really hit home until he did it himself.
He was shocked at the records he had to provide: his birth certificate, Social Security card and two documents proving his address.
"The lady behind the counter lives down the road and knows exactly who I am and knows exactly where I live," Evers said. "This has just gone a little too far."
Now Evers, a Republican state senator from Crestview, has filed a bill to eliminate many of the law's requirements.

I know from experience down here - there's no anger equal to taking the drivers license away from a retired senior citizen!! In Florida, that's about half the population. This new law has some of the old folks po'd at every retirement home in the land; and they're starting to get down on the legislature. It fun to watch!! One retired school principal/professor I know was born at home in Kansas in the dark ages and is a widow. She's had a hell of a time getting a proper birth certificate and proof of her name.
One of our neighbors has their retired parent staying with them - so they have no "power bill" in the parent's name, no state issued birth certificate (I think he immigrated from South America before WWII), and no current passport! That neighbor is a lawyer who gave the max to the GOP. She's ranting about spending hours trying to get Pop's license renewed so he can drive the kids to music and soccer. Right now she can't get him registered to vote.
I think it's hilarious!
