Two residents say members of the PSE&G crew broke a sewer pipe and there's been water line breaks.

"Our contractor is installing electric conduit; all existing cable in and around the area is being replaced," she stated in an e-mail.

Sheppard confirmed a "sanitary line incident," and several water service line breaks, and a gas line break, adding that repairs were made promptly.

"These are old sewer lines ... you don't know what's going to crack," Brew said. "Three months from now, if our sewer line's broken, they're (PSE&G workers) not going to be here, and we're going to be foot with a $10,000 bill to replace it."
