Hey Republicans, if you want US to stay in Iraq, raise taxes on the rich to pay for it! |
|
Since Obama's announcement of complete troop withdrawal from Iraq, the usual suspects of big-mouth Republicans have stood up and criticized it. So why don't they offer to raise taxes to pay for an extension? Better yet, raise taxes to pay for the trillions already spent!
Yet, they worry that Iran will gain too much influence after we leave. Why didn't they think of that before they began the illegal and immoral invasion in the first place? It's like the kid who kills his parents and begs for mercy on account of being an orphan. It's another outrageous moment from the failed Republican party! Hey dirty loser Republicans: STFU!

1. It has nothing to do with money. |
|
Iraq finally refused to immunize our soldiers from liability for crimes committed there.

2. Even with the immunity issue, it does have to do with money: see Pakistan. |
|
Recall when that CIA agent killed two men in Pakistan. We showed them the money and our murdering CIA agent got "immunity." Now he's getting into fights with Americans at suburban strip malls.
Yeah, the immunity thing in Iraq is nominally why we're leaving, but the real reason is that our empire has run out of money (or willingness to provide money). Furthermore, we're America, our soldiers are above every law. See Al-Awlaki and his son. No immunity? That's a laugh.
