67. hold on now, 10 out of 11 is still an A on a quiz in school |
|
so dont forget the other 7% who got one wrong for a total of 9% in the A range, then you need to calculate the B, C range to find out who is excellent, above average, average and the D and F for struggling and failing. anything 8 or better out of 11 is average or better which is about 35% of the population polled here on the net. the non net going public would likely do worse (people who cannot read etc.) but is it really a question of stupidity or just people who work a shitload and have to take care of kids and just do not pay attention to the assholes running the show? this is ignorance in my opinion but not stupidity.

I got "8 out of 11" but when I thought to myself NO WAY, and looked at my answers, I saw that THEY WEREN'T MINE.
I was actually 11/11 right.
also, backed out all the way of the poll, to double check my selections along the way... and yeah... uh. it totally fudged my results. It decided to give me different, wrong answers. cleared out my cache, tried again. same shit.
it decided to make up a different answer than my own on at least 3-4 questions for me. each time.

62. I scored 91%. The one "wrong" answer was unemployment percentile |
|
But I think my answer of 15% was under the real rate, while Pew says National is 9% is the correct answer, I have a hard time believing that. The other questions were incredibly simple. I was stunned to see only 7% of test takers got 10 out of 11 correct, and only 2% got all 11 correct. I'm wondering if all the others got caught on the unemployment number.

|
Like that they provide you info on what you got right/wrong when you are done, how you did on each question compared to everyone else, and then a break down on how some demographics did on the individual questions. Very informative.

79. For those of you who went with interest on the debt instead of Medicare.... |
|
One thing to bear in mind is that interest expense is highly dependent on the interest rate that the government must pay to induce investors to lend it money. Right now, that rate is very low, despite S&P's politically motivated downgrade, and despite the cries of the deficit hawks that a high level of debt would push interest rates through the roof. Krugman has noted the chasm between their predictions and reality.
What gets me is that two percent of the respondents got them ALL wrong. I mean, that takes a combination of monumental ignorance and incredible bad luck. Even if you pay no attention to the news and you never heard of Moammar Gadhafi or Hillary Clinton, and you don't know who the Speaker of the House is, so you just guess randomly at those questions, you have only about a 42% chance of blowing all of them, and then you still have to screw up eight more questions to get the perfect fail.
Please, someone tell me that those two percent were just goofing around and deliberately picking the most ridiculous answer for each question. Failing that, please tell me they aren't registered to vote.

the unemployment question more closely. Instead, I went for a figure that is probably closer to actual unemployment, than "what is reported by the federal government" so I missed it. Also missed the question on federal spending. Figured more was being spent on national-debt interest.
