Rosie O'Donell is putting on a great show on OWN. Naomi Wolf |
|
was on yesterday. She gave her a very long segment where she gave more details about the arrest at OWS. She had Cedric the Entertainer on and he was funnier than I have ever seen him. I am not sure how to spell her last name, so please forgive.

2. I watched Rosie live last Thursday when she had Naomi on her show. |
|
I thought it was interesting in that Rosie usually opens her show with a comedy routine. On Thursday (the 20th), just two days after Naomi was arrested, she skipped the comedy and had Naomi on via SKYP. As far as I am aware that was Naomi's first interview post arrest. Rosie and Naomi are friends and have worked together for various causes in the past.
What was most interesting is Rosie introduced the Naomi interview by first giving background on OWS and talking about Sgt. Shamar Thomas (Rosie saw his video on youtube and had flown him to Chicago and had him on in person on Tuesday the 18th). Then Rosie showed a clip of Obama making a strong speech in support of the protesters and the right to assembly, etc. in Libya and then she began the interview with Naomi. IOWs, she highlighted the hypocrisy of US reaction to OWS.
While watching the show live I immediately thought the Obama clip was going to piss off Oprah. So, I checked OWN's website for highlights of the show and sure enough they had cut out the Obama video. I have not checked back this week to see if the full segment is online but until I see or hear otherwise I am going to assume that Rosie is already in trouble with her boss.

3. I was interested in this show but could not stomach it... |
|
I admit to only watching the first four shows so maybe it has changed or will change as it goes on. She has an announcer with a god-awful voice, and a band for background music. Okaaaaaay. The shows I saw were a combination of comedy stand up, game show, talk show interview, audience q & a, and chorus line performance - as if she put all of her talents into a blender and created a show. I don't really want to hear her sing, lol! I gave up on it.
I like Rosie and I wanted to like this show but I felt like she threw up on me while I was watching.

4. The interview with Naomi Wolf is worth seeing. |
|
http://www.oprah.com/rosie/Rosie-Talks-to-Naomi-Wolf-about-Occupy-Wall-Street-VideoI wish her monologue was online, too. All I saw was her monologue and the interview with Naomi. This show just happened to be re-aired on after Miss Representation on Saturday so I caught the first part of it. Glad I did. :)
