4. Well found why
Slight slant from ten nooz not shocking.

SAN DIEGO -- Representatives of Occupy San Diego asked the City Council Tuesday to pass a resolution in support of their movement, but their continued chanting subsequently prompted council President Tony Young to abruptly adjourn the panel's morning session.

Even though activists asked for such a resolution -- similar to one passed by the Los Angeles City Council -- last week, no such measure was placed on Tuesday's docket, leaving Occupy San Diego members with three minutes during a public comment period on issues not listed on the agenda.

And they are asking people to show up en masse.

12.  City Council meeting halted after Occupy San Diego asks for support
Channel 8 -- http://www.cbs8.com/story/15872622/city-council-meeting-halted-after-occupy-san-diego-asks-for-support

They asked for a special meeting to place the item on the agenda immediately.

"Again, if you do not place this on a future agenda, at this time, we will accept your passive consent to reoccupy the Civic Center Plaza and Children's Park and your action will be evidence of support for our constitutional rights," Deutsch said, as her words were echoed by the rest of the group.

When the next scheduled speaker, who regularly addresses the council at meetings, got up for his turn to talk, the protesters began chanting, "We are the 99 percent" and "Support us now."

At that time, Young announced the morning session was over with about 30 minutes remaining. Before the non-agenda comment session began, Young tried to grant the protesters more than their allotted three minutes by separating their topics, and took a five-minute break so they could organize themselves.

Apparently they are not strong on Robert's Rules of Order.

28. The words of Ghandi about Civil Disobedience:

"Civil disobedience is the assertion of a right which law should give but which it denies."

"Civil disobedience becomes a sacred duty when the State becomes lawless corrupt."

Is OSD a threat to submarines? Are the subs going to torpedo OSD?

23. OK, but if they're active duty they'll be in jail if they create a security situation
Uniformed military personnel cannot participate in political protests and that's a good thing. If they're not active duty then they have no access to federal facilities except maybe to shop.

Federal troops haven't been deployed by Obama so -- what exactly is the concern here?

17. You thought wrong
1.- not all military ate RW. Nor are all retired

2.- the political divide is to the east of the city propper. It gets redder as you go inland and it is pretty blue south of I-8.

29. Probably final update tonight

Occupy San Diego
EVERYONE!! Especially Occupy San Diego Supporters! San Diego Occupiers remain "nervous" today in light of the police action taken against Occupy Oakland where police wiped out the entire occupation.... This morning an Emergency Call to Action was issued and San Diegans responded... if only to tune into the livestream or repost the Emergency Call onto your own personal Facebook! All of these actions help OSD Organizers and Occupiers allow for a strong message to be sent to the SDPD and other government officials in San Diego County.... OSD Occupiers and Organizer have build a strong connection to the San Diego Community and in an emergency people engaged in peaceful protest will be protected and supported by the citizens of San Diego...... It is estimated that 30 to 40 people responded to the Emergency Call this morning and although it may not sound like a huge number, this Organizer can assure you that SD Occupiers (what we call "people on the ground" or "eye witnesses" inside the SD Civic Center,) were most happy to see their faces! (This organizer spoke to 3 eye witnesses to confirm and verify that what was being reported was indeed factual) Our City of San Diego has one of the largest followings with almost 12,000 viewers apart from OSW and Occupy Seattle which touts an audience of 22,000. We the admins of OSD listen to your posts... and we have taken measures to help us help you be kept up-to-date with the latest information possible...... Thank-you once again San Diego!!! Give yourselves a hand.... I know we are...... can you hear us now???

Occupy San Diego
The police have backed off as soon as about 20 occupiers sat in front of the nurses station and conducted a teach in about the United Nations resolution protecting the right to a nurses / medical station. We are organized, we are strong, we will continue to provide first aid and stand in solidarity with National Nurses United.

32. Final update????
CITY COUNCIL MEETING UPDATE: After the #occupysandiego used the human mic in a professional and organized manner at the City Council meeting this morning, we are getting the sense that Council will consider our request that "Occupy San Diego be allowed to peacefully occupy San Diego Civic Center Plaza now or that negotiations for permits to do so begin now. Concretely, we propose that up to 300 tents be allowed to occupy the Civic Center plaza that Occupy SD keeps in compliance with fire safety code and that we continue to work reasonably to remain in accommodation with various civic center events as we have done to date or in the alternative that we act now to tape out a corridor for fire and safety vehicles in the event of an emergency, that we respect all access to building entrances and exits and private property and that we then be allowed free and unfettered access to occupy all other public spaces in the San Diego Civic Center Plaza."
