So Pat Buchanan posted an editorial today...

...that posits the US basically became a world dominant power because of the homogeneity of it's religiosity (christian) and gene pool (caucasian) and language (english) and that growing diversity doomed the country to splinter and eventually fail for having no uniting force.

It was a gloomy but obvious conclusion by a failed white pundit of right wing values. Because if HIS values were right then the country would indeed have no binding central value. In his world controlling white patriarchs trickle down their blessings upon those lower than themselves-blacks, hispanics, and democrats, all of whom should be grateful for both his beneficence and guidance.

But MY United States has a different future. Old Pat and his like must be swept away like the foolish detritus they are. They must be swept away like wars on terror, and voter ID lies, and citizens united frauds, and crooked politicians of all stripes. In The 70's I lived in the army with diverse people like jews and indians and blacks and gays and hispanics and others. They were men and Americans and their aspirations were much like mine. You will NEVER convince me that being "different" meant we couldn't live or work together-we did. In 30 years we "whites" may in fact be a minority in color or other characteristic but never in our basic desires or aspirations. In MY America if we share the pie more fairly and guarantee true justice we become what we then aspired to.
