A positive shout out to the Raleigh Police Department.
After watching the police departments in other cities, I have to commend ours on the Saturday I attended. They escorted protestors through many traffic lights in single file streetside with traffic support. No riot gear and the only ones with helmets were on horseback in the perimeter. The arrests that night were orderly and peaceful and respectful of legal observers. Of course, this means I could protest without being chicken. :) My hats off to Occupiers facing more extreme circumstances.

if they get good publicity like that, they'll be more inclined to continue to be fair in the future. :)

And good for them! :headbang:

ETA: And good for you for giving them the well deserved praise! :hi:

2. I was there: they were very polite
Now, I wasn't there on the evening of the 15th when the arrests were made, but they also appeared to have self-control when ordered to arrest the protestors engaged in civil disobedience.

5. The people just sat there. Legal observers standing beside them.
They put their hands behind their backs and the police put on the plastic straps, then helped them up.
