California lawmaker: Marijuana crackdown will cost millions in lost revenue
Gallup recently found that Americans favor marijuana legalization now more than ever. A record-high 50 percent of Americans say the use of marijuana should be made legal, up 4 percent from last year and 14 percent from 2006.

“Instead of supporting state efforts to effectively regulate medical marijuana in accordance with Prop 215, the Obama administration seems committed to re-criminalizing it,” Ammiano continued. “This destructive attack on medical marijuana patients is a waste of limited law enforcement resources and will cost the state millions in tax revenue and harm countless lives. I urge President Obama to reconsider this bad policy decision and respect California’s right to provide medicine to its residents.”

His statement was echoed by California state Senator Mark Leno (D).

2. The Obama Administration supports legal MMJ in CA.
Look at the jack-booted overreaction to OWS in Oakland last night, that's the problem.

5. Deeds>Words.
We've seen the deeds and heard the words.

So do we believe our lying eyes or those lips through which falsehood may not pass?

6. There is no legal MMJ according to federal law. Obama admin just randomly applies law
If by "officially supports", you mean "wages a senseless shock and awe campaign against LEGAL dispensaries".
Then yes, your oft-repeated phrase becomes true.

7. As I've said before the President is not going to go to Oaksterdam and smoke a fatty on TV.
It is his job to set official policy and he did that 3 years ago.

12. So what good is a president who lets federal agencies completely contradict official policy?
Absolutely worthless, in my opinion.

Because he is campaigning...
He believes he has a majority to support what he is doing...
So you can shill for Obama and blow smoke up our asses..
But you cannot post a link to show otherwise with any facts..

19. So, in other words, Obama is 100% incompetent and is unable to remove his own
employees who stand in 100% opposition to his administration's position. That's almost worse than being against it. If he were against MMJ, at least we could say that he's a competent president.

21. That so called "official policy" was then clarified 2 years later..
in an attempt to justify the administration's continued prosecution of dispensaries and their users..

The Obama Administration has taken its strongest stance yet in declaring that medical-marijuana dispensaries are legitimate targets of prosecution.

In a memo written earlier this week, Deputy Attorney General James M. Cole wrote that people, "who are in the business of cultivating, selling or distributing marijuana, and those who knowingly facilitate such activities" are in violation of federal law regardless of their state laws.

"Such persons are subject to federal enforcement action, including potential prosecution," Cole wrote.

The memo comes nearly two years after a memo by another Justice Department official was seen as giving the green light for medical-marijuana businesses to open.

10. What they "officially" support means absolutely nothing.
Especially when they turn their heads when the DEA engages in its illegal shutdowns of legal dispensaries.

15. No, it doesn't. Not even close.
I assume that you mean to say that the Obama admin supports California's state rights to allow MMJ dispensaries. That's what he said years ago, but he's proven he was full of shit when he said that.

14. So now Obama = Bush + Nixon
Just waiting for Hitler to be added the equation and then you'll be as cool as Hank Williams Jr.

The Obama Administration SUPPORTS legal MMJ. Bush and Nixon OPPOSED legal MMJ.

Obama was full of shit when he said he supported California's right to MMJ. The people conducting these raids could be removed immediately, Obama doesn't give one damn.

Just how many Americans are high at any given moment?

50% does sound like a record.
