Why did Michael Reagan go off on Ron?

Why did Michael Reagan go unhinged when his brother Ron suggested their father showed early signs of Alzheimer's in the late 80's? Is the Right so vested in Ronald Reagain's image that they needed to sick brother against Brother? Is Micheal simply jealous that Ron was the favorite among the kids?

President Reagan's son Michael is lashing out at his brother Ron, calling him an "embarrassment" to the family for writing in a new book that the late president showed signs of Alzheimer's disease while still in the White House.

"Ron, my brother was an embarrassment to his father when he was alive and today he became an embarrassment to his mother," Michael Reagan, a radio talk-show host, writes on Twitter.

4. Michael is a hateful POS and I think he has long harbored

ill feelings towards Ron. I also think he is exceedingly homophobic, so when Ron was the subject of an angry rumour campaign (that Ron was gay) during the period that his President Dad was ignoring the AIDs epidemic, this set him off.

But, yes, the Right is so vested in St. Ronnie's image that they refuse to believe anything remotely less than "holy," despite the obvious facts.

we all saw the fumbling ray gun was doing, he made it obvious he had handlers and nancy to do his thinking for him. an actor by trade. accustomed to direction from others.

my mum had it. in her earlier days, she was just like him. confused, dazed, disoriented.

And from what I remember, he and Ron have always been less than friendly to each other.

21. Reagan and Wyman adopted Michael in 1945. Wyman filed for divorce in 1948,

divorce finalized in 1949. Married Nancy in 1952 and Ron was born in 1958.

So Michael had what, 3-4 years living at home with Dad? Ron had his whole life until adulthood.

Maybe it's jealousy, maybe father issues, don't know, but who the fuck was closer to Reagan and knew him better? I'm putting my money on Ron.

I remember at Reagan's funeral when Nancy kind of lost it at Reagan's coffin (very touching, she looked so lost) and Michael jumped up from his chair and rushed to comfort her, like he was part of that 'branch' of the family. Sickening.

Ron is a good guy and is able to view his dad's actions objectively while still loving him as a father.
