Free speech for corporations, but Oaklanders get shot in the face |
|
Edited on Wed Oct-26-11 09:17 PM by MannyGoldstein
I just came home from work and I get to watch videos of a fellow getting shot in the head while exercising the basic Constitutional rights that he thought he'd gone to war for.
And you think our politicians give a flying fuck? Other than figuring out how to scam votes and cash off of it?
Wake up people. We're on our own.

The Republicans (at least seven of them) are trying to convince people they have a solution. Income for top one percent 'grew by 275 percent' in the past 28 years

10. A solution to getting shot in the head? |
|
This is bipartisan: neither elected Republicans nor Democrats seem to have a beef with folks getting brutalized for exercising their Constitutional freedoms.

with bullets and jail. Legally.
Somehow corporate money has bought the people's government.

16. Another angle is cops from all around the bay area went to Oakland |
|
to make war on its citizens that night for no fucking reason. Before they got there, Occupy Oakland was perfectly quiet. There was no problem there. So, we can't only blame JeanQuan and the OPD because they had PLENTY of willing assistance. The attitude is universal. We're on our own, all right.

From whom then do they take orders?

I don't think people in Hayward or San Francisco or Fremont want to pay LeO's to assault peaceful protesters in Oakland. In fact, this is a good point. I need to call San Jose and ask if they plan to cooperate with attacks on occupations in other cities.
As for who gives the orders, in Oakland, the Mayor and the PD both ducked the question. But all those other agencies didn't show up by accident. That happens pretty rarely. I can't remember another time when they amassed in this way except once for a funeral procession for a fallen officer.
