If American Land were Distributed the way American Wealth Is
Posted on 10/27/2011 by Juan
The Congressional Budget Office confirms that the top 1% has tripled its income since 1979, while the upper middle class has increased its wealth much more modestly, and the rest of the country has seen only a small gain.

Just to be clear, the 1% are about 3 million, the 9% are about 27 million, and everyone else crowded into that little torrid strip is about 278 million.

1. Does this mean I can own all of Alaska?
I won't be greedy, someone else can have Hawaii.

2. I think it actually *is* distributed that way, if you take away federal & state lands.
For example, John Malone (media mogul) owns land in the US that put together is about the size of Jordan (the country). Ted Turner owns just slightly less. I'm sure there are others.

11. Nope, Gaddafi did not always help the underdog.
He helped ANC. But he also helped Mugabe.

And the people who fought against the ANC in South Africa often committing atrocities, White South African military and police, helped Gaddafi's family escape, helped Gaddafi to smuggle gold out of the country, were helping Gaddafi to escape but botched it, and are currently helping Saif.

Because of the harm that Gaddafi did to Sudan when it interfered in that country (yup, imperialism), Sudan helped the rebels with weapons.

And in Libya, the Libyans were the underdog - Gaddafi was one of the richest men in the world and used Libya's money as his own piggy bank. That is why it is probably going to be easier to track down Libyan money.
