DHS asked cities to shut down encampments?
Edited on Thu Oct-27-11 02:31 AM by villager
Granted, it's repeating on Twitter, but "unconfirmed," but this would explain why "Democratic" mayors are all falling in line (like L.A.'s Villaraigosa, who I won't be voting for again), with police action and rhetoric.

And of course, this would also be at the feet of the Obama administration, if true.

At least the true colors/purpose of the DHS will become clearer to US citizens now....

1. Didn't some of us say it last night?
If confirmed.

2. I always thought that use of the word "Homeland" sounded
Edited on Thu Oct-27-11 02:36 AM by coalition_unwilling
suspiciously Aryan, i.e., 'Heimat'.

I would simply remind all reading this that the Czar had many Cossacks, but all the Cossacks in the world could not stop the people from toppling the Czar.

I will be calling Villaraigosa's office non-stop starting tomorrow (and that Quisling Rosendahl's too). Neither will ever get another vote from me.

3. Remember it is all UNconfirmed, which means as of now it's only a RUMOR.
Edited on Thu Oct-27-11 02:39 AM by Tx4obama

And there is NO need to use a RUMOR to post anything negative regarding Obama.
There's already enough negativity out there floating around ;)

7. I believe that President Obama is on the side of the protesters.
He won't let DHS get involved.

9. Heh -- like he's on the side of the 4th amendment, or medical marijuana users?
Or, per John Muir, "the side of the bears?"

Well, with allies like that... ;-)

22. Yeah, like he won't let our justice department arm drug cartels in Mexico?
The FBI, DHS, IRS, ICE, and other agencies were involved in at least 3 separate operations to arm drug cartels in Honduras and Mexico. All while we continue to jail people for using and selling drugs here in the US.

6. that the crackdowns were ordered at the federal level is not even a question.

whether or not it was the dhs behind it, is, uh, disputable.

10. Yes, it is a question. If you have evidence of FEDERAL involvement then post a link. Otherwise ...
otherwise it's only a RUMOR.

12. It's too random to be a central command. It is the decision of locals.

16. Yep, it's not the feds. It's the local assholes making the decisions.
And some of the cities local mayors/police that are on the side of the protesters would be screaming blooding hell if they had been contacted by the feds/DHS and told to do something they didn't want to do.
Too many protests in too many cities to keep it a secret for very long.

18. Law enforcement types have been engaging in attacks on peaceful
assemblies since this country began. There's no need to spread rumors of a central command. What's next? Black helicopters?

24. Alas there is coordination
Edited on Thu Oct-27-11 12:29 PM by nadinbrzezinski
I am not ready to jump on Feds bandwagon, but there is. Is. Or you think state police shows up for the fun? So at the very least state level. And do think governors don't have this new fangled invention called a phone?

That said DOJ better be opening a file on ODP. they are their nannies and I bet you didn't know that.

But to deny coordination is naive in the extreme and these attacks continue the administration should consider looking into actual federal intervention.
