after all the 'double-dip' hand wringing from the media..... |

Lifted by stronger consumer spending and business investments, Commerce says economy expanded at an annual rate of 2.5 percent from July to September, nearly doubling the growth from the previous quarter.http://www.washingtonpost.com/business/economy/economists-expect-24-pct-growth-in-q3-enough-to-keep-unemployment-rate-from-rising/2011/10/27/gIQAPJDjKM_story.html?hpid=z1

1. I was so very glad to see that this morning |

The pundits and posters will certainly decry that this is not enough, or find some shard of negativity in the numbers. But it is a huge relief, that cannot be shunted aside, to see that we continue to move in the right direction. This makes my day, because if we don't have hope we have nothing.

With the discontent and OWS, TPTB are trying to appease. They have the power to do that, just like gas prices. They want everyone to calm down and be lulled back into complacency.

Though its only a one percent gain over the previous growth, its hard to underestimate the effect of a little bit of simple economic growth on the republican plans for the country...

9. 2.5% growth minus 6.7% deficit = -4.2% |
|
We are losing 4.2% of our economy. People like to ignore that we are over $1T in the hole for 2011. Growing $375 billion while running a $1.1 trillion deficit is nothing to be excited about.
We basically have lost $725billion in the USA this year.
