Florida: Candidate (-R?) runs nude 5K in 30 min., endorsed by largest paper -- Has 'nothing to hide'

STUART, Oct. 27 — Frank Mezzapelle has been endorsed by The Stuart News in his race for Stuart City Commission. A father/grandfather, community leader and former longtime president of Stuart Main Street (a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit orga­ni­za­tion ded­i­cated to improv­ing the appear­ance and eco­nomic sta­bil­ity of His­toric Down­town Stuart), Mezzapelle brings new meaning to the all-important transparency that today’s politicians atttempt to present to potential voters.

Mezzapelle’s run is not the only race he has participated in. His impressive time in the 12th Annual Dare to Go Bare 5K Run” — a nude 5K — in Lutz, FL in 2004 was 29 minutes, 39 seconds. Mezzapelle has entered several of these legally sanctioned races.

What if he had gone to a nude beach?

Maybe he's just not a puritan.

What about the vast majority of people who run for office? Not exactly shy, shrinking violets. (no shrinkage pun intended).

I hope he loses, but not because of his participation in a nude race.

And, if this was his way of publicizing his campaign without making himself beholden to donors (a big if, I know), I hope others follow suit. (No clothing pun intended)
