Eisenhower misunderestimated the stupidity of his country.
Or at least how stupid his country could become.

1. The public education system was better then,
the Fairness Doctrine was in effect and, of course, we didn't have Foxx.

2. Exactly. We've had over 30 years of dumbing down
and brainwashing.

Liberals = bad
Taxes = bad
Government = bad
Corporations = GOOD!

Ugh.

3. Ever since Bush Jr. was "elected"
this country has gone in the toilet. Obama has done nothing to stop the slide except a few band-aids that will come off at any moment.

9. since reagan the presidency has largely been irrelevant.
the power has shifted from elected representatives to bought representatives.

fdr himself wouldn't be able to get jack done with a congress that is owned by corporate boardrooms.

7. Eisenhower (now-a-days) would be labeled as a "Left-Wing" Complainer.
He was one of the best Republican Presidents this country has ever had.

The current crop of Repugs couldn't shine that man's shoes.

8. His "warning" about the Military/Industrial complex
also didn't come to fruition. They are more powerful today than ever. There was only one president who got in their way-oh, let me see, what was his name and what happened to him?
