It is a first hand account of the 1970's strike for union representation by coal miners. Please watch it if you can find it. My, how brave these miners and their wives were.

3. In real time...

Harlan County plays Bell County tonight in football. Bell County, my home school, is the county just south of Harlan. Harlan County is undefeated this year. Bell County is undefeated since they lost their first game to Lexington Catholic. They consolidated the old Harlan schools, including Lynch, a former powerhouse in Class A, to form the new and powerful Harlan County team. Bell County has won a couple of state championships and is usually the team to beat in Southeastern Kentucky. The mountains will be buzzing tonight with Friday night football... :-)
