A Sad GOP Senator Admits GOP led Congress is Bad

Sad-Sack Congresscritters Hate Themselves Almost As Much As Everyone Else Hates Them

Sen. Lindsey Graham is so embarrassed about the 9 percent approval rating — released Tuesday night in a New York Times/CBS poll — that he’s going incognito.

“It’s so bad sometimes I tell people I’m a lawyer,” the South Carolina Republican told POLITICO on Wednesday. “I don’t want to be associated with a body that in the eyes of your fellow citizens seems to be dysfunctional. It matters to me.”

“We’re below sharks and contract killers,”
added freshman Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.).

..................

“There’s always been a healthy disdain for political institutions,” Graham said. “But when it becomes unhealthy is when 91 percent of the country believes that the Congress is detached from reality.”

1. And whose fault is it Lindsay? the body that has done everything in its power to do nothing
about very real problems just so they can make the country worse off to hurt the sitting president of the United States?

A change, or acquiring of, a heart? I doubt it. Even the most sincere turnaround convert in this sorry crew would have little actual talent for public service once they finally figure out a) what that entails b) they have a sworn obigation to do it.

So resign already and move to Costa Rica.

4. And that's only because 9% of them
are in the category of benefiting from your policies, belong in a mental institution, or are your relatives.

You'd be at 0 without those folks. Congress IS detached from reality and it is Congress that is unhealthy. You can thank your own party for most of that Lindsey Graham.

Your Republican brother is wrong.
The Dems have nothing at all close to the rigid militant party discipline that the zombie-like Republicans exhibit. Graham occasionally offers moments of perspective and, if he can muster the votes, bipartisan compromise. He would never just outright stab his own caucus in the back the way Lieberman did over his long whiny career. They wouldn't put up with that shit.

63. What do you mean he's "wrong"?
Are you suggesting that repukes don't see Graham as a RINO in much in the same way that we looked at Lieberman when he was still a Dem (yes, he'll caucus with you but don't take for granted is vote on any key issue, or be surprised if he actively undercuts an attempt to hold some position)? Some repukes have felt this way about Graham since before Lieberman was on Gore's ticket (back before Lieberman was so objectionable). They think he constantly stabs his own caucus in the back by looking for some backdoor compromise while the hardliners stand firm. Like the comparison or not, repukes DO think of Graham the same way we think of Lieberman when he was a dem?

The fact is (if this is true) that perhaps he has been moved and I personally find that rather promising. I've never been one to kick a dog when he is down - if Graham has all of a sudden found some kind of revelation deep within the recesses of his soul, I think that this is not only a good thing, but could maybe set a very important precedent into place ~

Get the money and lobbyists out of politics, get out of your detached from reality bubbles and start doing the bidding of the people instead of the corporations and powerful.
