Why has there been a 70 percent increase in takedown requests to Google by US government or police? |
|
Seventy percent increase in censorship requests to Google by US government or police http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/oct/25/google-transparency-report-releasedAnd this is not the only example of what is happening. This is part of an extremely disturbing pattern, and Americans should be alarmed: Obama seeks permission to lie about Freedom of Information requests, even to the courts: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x2185303New Bill Being Considered In Congress Could Shut Down Social Media Sites Crucial To ‘Occupy’ Protest http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x2202234Wartime Contracting Panel Seals Records for Next 20 Years http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x2180947ACLU issues report on Obama and core liberties http://politics.salon.com/2011/09/07/liberties_3/singletonObama freezes reporters out of fundraising event http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=439&topic_id=2182932&mesg_id=2182932

24. We need to be very vigilant now about what they are doing. |
|
They will become increasingly aggressive about maintaining control, and they will likely try to push some of it through legislatively, as quietly as possible.

On First and Fourth Amendment issues, he's turned out to be a con. And, all that implies.

15. Because OWS is very threatening |
|
to the very few at the very top.
It's like it says in my sig... power concedes nothing without demand. Change 'demand' to 'a fight' and you get an idea of what this is. OWS won't win without a fight. The <1% are getting their pawns and pieces in place.

19. Because, even thought they talk big and act like nothing can touch them, they are afraid and think |
|
they can stop what has started with censorship......they're wrong, and the more they persist with this type of shit, the more all of us will resist and become more resolved to fight them. I don't understand how they don't get this.

Marcos in the Philippines didn't get it 25 years ago, the Soviets (excepting Gorbachev) didn't get it 20 years ago, Ben Ali didn't get it in Tunisia, Mubarak didn't get it, Gaddafi didn't get it and Assad doesn't get it.
TPTB never get it until it's too late. And then it sucks to be them.

|
dig in and fight. Thanks for the short list of those who didn't or still don't get it until it's too late.....those who don't learn from history are destined to repeat it I guess. Lou
