I am detecting a slight change in MSM, or at least msnbc re OWS. |
|
They are now talking of it as a movement. Time has it in the cover...by job I think they are getting one thing so far...it ain't going anywhere.
That is an improvement.

1. If the tea party is a movement OWS definitely qualifies. |
|
The tea party was probably overblown. I can see where there is value above simply an electioneering effort.

3. Saw it on the cover of Bloomberg Business week this morning... |

Occupy Wall Street: It’s Not a Hippie Thing Don’t be fooled by the drum circles. Today’s protests have more in common with the anti-Hoover 1930s than the antiwar ’60s and ’70s http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/occupy-wall-street-its-not-a-hippie-thing-10272011.html

I haven't finished reading that piece yet, but it starts out very even handed, which is amazing.

that it is resisting. With respect to the OWS movement, I suspect that they are figuring out that the more they resist, the more it persists. I agree with you, there has been a slight change at msnbc with how they are "labeling" the OWS movement and it has been an improvement. Lou

8. They're Looking At Polling & Research |
|
These networks spend big bucks on all internal and external polling and research to find issues that attract eyeballs that draw ratings that mean higher advertising revenues. The Occupy movement has shown itself to be national (international) in scope and that it drawing positive reactions from not just the American public but it's very popular with Democrats and young people...MSNBC's core audience. Just as faux took advantage of the teabaggers, MSNBC is trying to do the same with Occupy and the rising discontent that it has brought about. Their research shows not only its growing in popularity but is a story that they should get on top of.
Cheers...

11. Which is why I believe they took out the generators this AM. |
|
With snow expected and no power for anything, they are hoping the weather pushes them right on out of the park.

10. I believe all three major network evening news programs had OWS has |
|
one of their lead stories, if not the lead story.
I know NBC has had it as one of the lead stories for the last couple of weeks.

12. Mika B. stumbled on the word 'movement' this morning during an interview. |
|
It was like "...blah, blah, the OWS movement-- or would you characterize it as a 'movement'?" I imagined the thought balloon over her head saying "Crap, what did that memo say about 'movement?"
