It is NOT a TEA Party....it just isn't, and I won't legitimize any of it! |
|
Bagger on another bb felt the need to explain to me TEA group is not a political: "The Tea Party (ya know this is a loose organization or federation of people- not a political party, right?)..."
My response: Yup I think I understand that. Hence the reason you will rarely if ever see me refer to them as a TEA party. Generally I use the term TEA group.
The insistence of the group to capitalize the "P" in the word word 'party', in fliers and handouts and websites leads me to believe they are trying to impress the reader in a direction of political legitimacy. I guess the actual TEA PARTY political group registered in Florida, as an actual Party, went no where...not surprising. If they wanted to pursue an image of a cucumber sandwich tea toting party (which is what they presumably are), then they should have downplayed the 'party' and kept the lower case p.
As it is, you don't need to worry that I may be a party to creating an image of the TEA group as a Party.

The fact that so many of their representative end up in elected office tells me that it is some kind of "Party."

2. I never use the word "party". I just call them "tea people" and it really pisses them off. |

5. I call them what they initially called themselves - teabaggers. |

3. Don't much care about the "party" label. More important is the growing... |

realization that progressives/liberals, OWS, etc. may have to meet up with the Teaparty folks; otherwise, we could miss out on a constituency which shows signs of realizing they have been sold down the road, too. BTW, they have been at OWS demos, and not just as agent provocateurs.

Bottom line is, they vote Republican... they aren't fooling anyone at all... except maybe themselves. Gotta be pretty stupid to fall for your own charade!
