Leonardo DiCaprio Is Playing J Edgar Hoover
This could be the role of a lifetime. It certainly isn't Jack.

1. I'm sure he'll do great, but I still can't see him as an adult
He always looks like he's about 16, even with makeup.

2. I Saw The Trailer. He Has Captured The Look
My friend, who is a playwright were comparing him and Matt Damon. He compared them unfavorably. He said DiCaprio always plays the "tortured soul". I said I like them both.

5. Why would anybody make a movie about that asshole?
He's evil, alright, I'll give you that. And creepy too. But he's not in the Hitler Stalin league of evil and frankly he's less creepy than Eric Cantor.

But I guess the biggest thing is he's just plain not very interesting.

Just a typical frightened repressed republican government functionary who spent his life in the closet. There are thousands of them.

You could make the same film about Karl Rove.

7. Cantor Is Bland. He's Just A "Suit"
Edited on Sat Oct-29-11 10:04 AM by DemocratSinceBirth
There's all kinds of intersting stuff about J Edgar Hoover such as

-how he got his boyfriend a cushy job in the Army; out of harms way

-his campaign to undermine Martin Luther King

-his prurient interest in the sex lives of major political figures

- the fact he never went after organized crime in a big way; ostensibly for fear of having his homosexuality exposed.

9. I wish Scorsese directed it
He and Leonardo work well together and he's the master of biographical films. Eastwood is good too, though! I'm excited for this film.
