The pro Issue 2 campaign to roll back the Kasich anti-union laws has made a huge blunder...
Here is why...

Ohio has, over the years, really relaxed the rules for voting absentee. The rules have been so relaxed that anyone who can request a ballot from their county Board of Elections can essentially vote early.

Now I am running a campaign for a guy running for reelection to a council at large seat in a typical Ohio city. One of the first things I did was to make sure we were totally in on getting our message to all those people who are voting early.

The Board of Elections makes it really easy for the campaigns to get their lit to the voter on the same day that the voter receives the ballot in the mail. At 7:00 in the evening on the day they mail out the ballots, you can download the voter file for that day in label form.

We have been doing this all along and as of today, we are getting our information to 30% of those voting early.

It's a week and a half before the election and all ready 30% of the people have technically voted.

Now I'm not a high priced campaign consultant but I would have thought that those highly paid consultants running the show for those who are against or, for that matter for Issue 2, would have set up an absentee program.

I sent in for my absentee and got my ballot THREE DAYS AGO. And yet I have not received one piece of lit for or against Issue 2.

They just started to run ads about a week ago when, looking at how this prototypical Ohio city is voting, 22% of the votes were already in.

I know the consultants make a boat load of money off the media buys, somewhere in the fifteen to twenty percent of the total cost of the media buy, but to not even put together a half assed absentee voter program...

I just don't get how they could pass up the chance to get a piece of literature INTO THE HANDS of a FOR SURE VOTER!!!!

Whatever. I Think, if I was healthy enough, I would start a company here in Ohio that does nothing but run absentee programs for candidates.

1. I think it's terrific that they have blundered, and you have not...
They are a bunch of idiots, IMHO of course!

And that sounds like a great idea for a company.

Recommended.
